Anna Marie Grace Kastner, MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC is an Advanced Practitioner of Nursing with 18 years of experience in mental health. Her experience ranges from Staff nursing to Clinical Director to her current career as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She is licensed in the State of Nevada and nationally board certified as Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) with American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). Anna graduated from University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV) with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She completed her Master of Science in Nursing focused on Leadership and Management from Walden University. She is fluent in both English and Tagalog.
Anna is the founder of ARK Mental Health Wellness, located in Las Vegas, Nevada, since 10/2022. At this time, ARK Mental Health is a private outpatient practice focused on medication management that provides initial evaluation of the patient's need for psychotropic medications, reconciling medications, and prescribing psychotropic medications to ensure patients get the desired outcomes. Medication treatment is for all ages starting at 5 years of age to well into adulthood. Other than prescribing psychotropic medication management, she plans to treat her patients using Complementary and Integrative Treatments. At this time, we do not offer therapy, but we are able to refer you to therapist if needed.
In recent years, there has been a shift toward raising awareness of mental health overall, including eliminating the stigma that stubbornly adheres to the notion of seeking mental help. Raising awareness and motivating people to seek professional help encouraged Anna to pursue a psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner certificate at National University at La Jolla, California, so she can advocate for patients who struggle to be heard or respected and to educate others who do not understand mental illness and to stop the mental health stigma.
Anna's goal is to build a relationship and understand patients' main concerns to determine if medication is necessary and to create a treatment plan that includes the right type and dosage of medication that can help promote recovery and normal living. It is important for the provider to review prescribed drugs and their possible side effects to create treatment plans and monitor their safety and efficacy. Treatment plans outlines the goals, interventions, and expected outcomes of treatment. Treatment plans are individualized to meet the specific needs of the person, considering unique circumstances and preferences.
Anna manages and treats a wide range of mental health concerns including Schizophrenia, Bipolar Disorder, Depression, Anxiety, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Disruptive Mood Dysregulation Disorder, and Oppositional Defiant Disorder. Anna provides psychiatric evaluations and medication management to special attention to individual need and each patient's particular concerns about or fears of medications, all of which she approaches with patience, warmth, understanding, and helpful explanations that facilitate treatment and the patient's sense of comfort and trust. She is flexible and integrative in her approach to meet the needs and desired outcomes of everyone. Anna is enthusiastic to apply her experience and compassion with clients as they begin to address issues that will help them to improve their quality of life and attain a sense of fulfillment. Her primary focuses are providing honest communication with her patients and quality resources for all those involved.
She has been a resident of Las Vegas, Nevada for 27 years. During her free time, she enjoys traveling with her family and their Belgian Malinois. She is also a proud mother of 3, has 5 dogs, and 1 cat. During her free time, she enjoyed shopping with her daughters and watching her son play hockey.
